Flowserve INNOMAG Sealless Magnetic Drive Pump
Feature

  • The TB series has the innovative design of sealless magnetic drive pumps. Its revolutionary dynamic thrust balancing system maintains sufficient pressure in the bearing lubrication area according to changes in fluid pressure to avoid cavitation.
  • The impeller self-adjusts its balance point along the cantilever axis to reduce wear on the impeller and bearings.
  • The internal special structural design enables the pump to transfer fluids even in applications containing solid impurities.

Advanced sealless magnetic pump technology TB-Mag

Thrust balancing system / Superior solids handling capability

Outer magnet
  • The position of the motor shaft can be aligned visually, no special tools are required.
  • External coating protection, the surface of the outer magnets is coated with corrosion-resistant EPOXY coating to enhance anti-corrosion capabilities.
Bearing
  • The double bearings are designed and made of SiC material. The double bearings are separated by a PTFE ring in the middle to improve the overall operating balance of the pump.
  • Embedded in the impeller and aligned with the shaft, it can be replaced separately.
Shaft
  • Made of sintered silicon carbide SiC material, unique rear axle design.
  • Oversized outside diameter design to handle all radial loads.
Rear casing
  • One-piece design, separated from the baseplate, eliminates the need to disassemble the pump when performing motor maintenance.
  • The synthetic fiber back cover is made of bulletproof cloth Kevlar®, and the pressure resistance can reach 3000psi (200bar).
Impeller set (impeller + inner magnet)
  • One-piece impeller design, closed impeller made of one-time injection molding.
  • Made of ETFE material, it has high strength and corrosion resistance.
  • The patented double-layer sealed inner magnet is corrosion-resistant and blocks the penetration of high-permeability fluids.
  • The impeller center adopts a fully open design, which has high efficiency and low NPSHr.
Front casing
  • One-piece cast iron casting.
  • Fully open entrance, reducing NPSHr value.
  • Lined with ETFE material, with a minimum thickness of 3mm, it has excellent corrosion resistance.
Thrust balancing design
  • When the process fluid enters the pump inlet unstablely, the thrust balance feature can evenly disperse the axial thrust, allowing the impeller to be balanced at the center point to avoid component damage due to front and rear impacts.
Impurity resistance
  • The wear rings at the front and back of the impeller can effectively prevent impurities from entering the rear casing, ensuring clean fluid cooling and lubricating bearings.

Thrust balance

  • Different pressure zones are established in the pump, and pressure changes are used to keep the impeller in the appropriate position.
  • If the impeller moves forward, it means that the front pressure decreases or the rear green pressure increases. The rear green pressure rises to red. The pressure relief valve at the shaft will open to relieve pressure. At this time, the pressure will return to the green pressure, and the impeller will move backward to the proper position.
Pump thrust balance and impurity resistance

Resistance to impurities

  • TB-Mag can resist up to 30% of impurities. The wear rings on the impeller and back cover create only about 10 gaps for clean fluid to pass through. Any large impurities cannot pass through, causing damage to the inner magnet or blocking the bearing flow channel.
  • If impurities can pass through this gap, it means that the impurity particles are extremely small and will not damage or block the flow channel.
  • SiC has high hardness and can withstand any impurity wear.
